strategy ~ ‘strat·e·gy \-jē\’ noun
A plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.”
Don’t be surprised if in our first conversation we ask some difficult questions. It is a constant source of amazement that clients will frequently present with a clear list of activities they would like undertaken, without first having asked themselves what are their underlying objectives. It’s tempting simply to deliver what we’ve been asked to do, but that’s not the best way of ensuring you get the outcome you want.
OK, you want a shiny new website. What do you want it to do? Of course you want more clients. What kind of clients? What unique proposition have you developed to serve them and how have you differentiated yourself in the marketplace? Who are your key competitors and what makes them successful? What specific goals do you have for the next 12 months, 3 years and 5 years? How do you see your marketing activities supporting these goals? How will we measure the success of this marketing programme on a regular basis?
We will help you develop a business development strategy, one that will identify your underlying objectives and quantify how their achievement will be measured. We will then create an executable plan of action with agreed and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) by which those objectives can be delivered. We create a transparent reporting structure so that ongoing actions are informed and evidence-based. We then regularly review activities and performance with you so that ongoing efforts can be re-calibrated to ensure the best possible results based on hard data.
